You can only enroll in a FEDVIP plan outside of open season if you experience a qualifying life event (QLE) that allows you to do so. Your first opportunity to enroll in FEDVIP coverage is during the next Federal Benefits Open Season, which runs from November 12 through midnight EST December 10, 2018, with coverage effective January 1, 2019
