OPM regulations do not specify a minimum amount of time a supervisor
must be on the job before he/she may appraise an employee. In some
instances, agency performance appraisal programs may require a minimum
amount of time. Consult your agency's human resources office for
information on whether your agency has established a minimum period that
a supervisor must be on the job before he/she may appraise employee
performance.
