Paul St. Hillaire was appointed Assistant Inspector General for Legal and Legislative Affairs (AIGL) in October 2019. He is responsible for overseeing the Office of Legal and Legislative Affairs (OLLA), which provides legal advice and guidance to the Inspector General and the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) components and interacts with Congress on behalf of the OIG. He also serves as the Debarring Official, who is responsible for debarment and suspension actions of health care providers participating in the Federal Employees Health Benefit Program.
Prior to his appointment to the AIGL, Mr. St. Hillaire served as senior counsel and Acting AIGL in OLLA, and Acting Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Management in the OIG. He previously served as Deputy Assistant General Counsel in the U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) Office of the General Counsel and in several other roles in the OPM organization formerly known as Retirement and Insurance Services.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore.
