William W. Scott Jr. is the Chief of the Office of Evaluations (OE) within the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Office of the Inspector General. He was appointed to this position in October 2014 when OE was first established.
Mr. Scott joined the Office of the Inspector General as an auditor in November 1992. As an auditor, he worked on an array of audit matters, ranging from OPM’s internal operations to insurance carriers who participate in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program. In 2006, he was appointed the group chief of the Internal Audits Group. In that role, he oversaw all audits of OPM’s internal operations, as well as the annual financial statement audits.
Prior to his employment with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, Mr. Scott spent two years as an accountant with Alexander & Alexander, in Owing Mills, Maryland.
Mr. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Virginia State University in 1990.
