Request a one-time passcode for OPM Retirement Services Online

The one-time passcode from Services Online allows you to connect your Login.gov account or regain access to your Services Online account if you are locked out for inactivity or another reason.

How to request a one-time passcode

  1. Sign in to your online account

    Go to OPM Retirement Services Online and follow the Login.gov sign-in process. Once you sign in, you will be redirected to the Verify your Account page.

  2. Go to the Request one-time passcode page

    On the Verify your Account page, scroll down and click the "Request passcode" button.

  3. Complete the form and submit your request

    Enter your claim number and email address, and click the "Request passcode" button. Within a few minutes you should receive an email with a one-time passcode.

  4. Follow the instructions in the email to use your one-time passcode

    It may take up to 5 minutes to receive your email. If the email address you provided doesn't match what we have on file, then you'll need to contact us for support.

How to request a passcode if you've never signed in before

If you're a new retiree or annuitant, you will receive a one-time passcode in your welcome letter. This passcode expires after 30 days.

If your passcode has expired, then you should contact us for more support.
